Something I read somewhere at sometime that I felt the need to write into a notebook.
When I was growing up my Mom used to tell me, "The world doesn't owe you anything!" In other words, you can't sit back and expect your dreams to be handed to you simply because you think you deserve them - you have to act, with a sincere heart, in a way that is in alignment with your dreams. Every day you have to arise and make something happen. If you don't, then you reap what you sow. If what you are sowing is insincere and coming from an attitude of entitlement, sooner or later your lack of true fulfillment will catch up with you. We're all dishonest or insincere with ourselves on some level, in some area. Perhaps you need to evaluate your motives and reflect on what's preventing you from having a fulfilled existence.

People who believe that they are entitled often keep their heads in the clouds of "what if" and their feet never touch ground of patient persistence. At the root of entitlement is an attitude of pride, and the old proverb says that pride goes before destruction. There is nothing wrong with possessing ambition and having aspirations beyond your current position in life.
